| I've read some guides but I still have some doubts regarding the ranger class
- Slot Evasion or Critical manastones?
- Use powershards (in case what level, highest available or lower?) or not?
- Kite with slidecast or switch to melee weapon when mob arrives in range?
- If I aggro two or more mobs usually I die (I have the coin set and coin weapon), what should I do?
- Should I enchant my gear (bronze coin) and to what level?
Thanks in advance!! I'll nominate each of you to the "Help a Newb Award"

| 1. Slot critical manastones. Only after you have a full PVE set you can experiment with such things as evasion. 2. Yeah, always use them. 3. At lower levels (~20ish) you can use melees for close fights but after that you don't ever do that again. Not worth it, eventually for the after-dodge stun, but yeah, not really. At endgame you gonna have so much skills ain't nobody got time for weps switching 4. Depends which coin set you mean if iron then well it's okay. Low levels ranger is screwed up. Learn to use traps - you trap one monster attack another. Use healing potions and overuse your dodge skill (evasion) as much as you can. Kite! Sleep arrow. Stuns. 5. Absolutely not. Don't ply enchanting for such gear. First thing worth enchantng is silver coin gear and even if you don't do it it's okay. Am I a nominee? | |

Am I a nominee? Definitively!!!!! thanks a bunch; I'm waiting for further develpoements and more candidates but we may have a winner here Mainly you gave me hope saying that rangers at low level are screwed up; I really do hope it gets a bit easier with the levels

| I've never really played ranger but some of those questions I can answer 1. Crit. A ranger's potential lies in the ability to bring others down before they can bring YOU down. After you've maxed out crit (I dunno which amount, before you ask) socket the remaining slots with Attack. 2. Always. They don't cost much (even less at broker) and hey, more damage is always welcome. As for what shards, depends on your level (moreso your wallet) really. Go on broker and see if you can get anything better than Minor / Lesser for a good price. The highest you can aim for are "Superior Shards". 3. - 4. As Matt said, low level ranger has it rough. Use traps, kiting and dodge skills as much as you can. It gets better over time, until late mid / early endgame where it develops into a class which can tear apart enemies in PvP within seconds. 5. No need to bother with enchanting until lv50 - lv60. If you want to socket, use white manastones. | |

| 1. Crit Strike all the way. Cap is 620 for mid/end game, 740 with scrolls. 2. Yes, powershards give a sligh boost in damage though I stopped using them at level 30-40 :S 3. I'm not entirely sure what "kite with slidecast" means but I wouldn't bother with melee weapons at all. Use your traps as much as possible. 4. Sleep Arrow, Spike Trap and Shock Arrow are your best friends in this situation. Later on, you'll also have Sleep Trap and Trap of Slowing to help you out. Focus on one mob at a time and CC the others as much as you can. 5. Like Mii said, don't bother with enchanting until later on. | |

| Thankies a lot *.* /wipes a small tear. We have two more nominees... the contest is getting heated Probably slidecast in this game is known under another name: I'll try to explain what I know about it so you can tell me the term I should use. Afaik SlideCast allows you to move during the execution of a skill that would otherwise root you in place till the animation (or cast) is complete: you achieve this by pressing at the right moment, originally the slide keys (Q,E), but recently also movement keys (W,A,S,D) and mouse click. | |

| Now I understand what you are talking about. I managed to 'achieve' a slidecast only by accdent a few times. If you mastered that then use it to its full potential. Kiting is the best way for us to stay alive. After level 45 when you begin to socket greater stigmas, if you chose the Lightning Arrow tree, you will have extra skills to cast while moving. | |

- Another thing you can do as a ranger is jumpshots with which you basically keep moving without waiting for the animations to play out. Here's a tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXttiRDWLN0
Didn't they fix jumpshot?
