Greetings, Regians!
So, where should I start? It has been a while.
As some of you might recall, I announced that I would leave the game for a good while (and with that the internet) to shift the focus back to real life, and my studies in particular. This was around begin February this year. Ionto was a great help here since he agreed to take up Brigade General and fill in for me after I had left. All seemed well, and thus off to real life I went.
Next thing I know, I heard via Skype that the legion had apparently been in decline ever since I left and eventually disbanded due to a total lack of activity. A check in-between learned me that my character had been removed from the legion, which came as quite the surprise but I was in no position to let my thoughts linger about it for too long. My future was at stake, and those kind of things just take priority over games.
About a month ago, during the summer break when I had some more time, I returned to Aion. I went for a fresh start, levelling an Asmo for a while, but in the end the old saying applies: home is where you hang your hat. Thus, I levelled up my SW and then finally decided to hop back on my Sorcerer, and attempt to remake the legion at last. And here we are now.
So, why this post.
The one thing that I have noticed is that many ex-Regias members still frequently play the game and/or linger around. The question that many confronted me with was "if/when you will rebuild?". I've had a few Skype conversations with folks where they made it abundantly clear how much they loved the legion, what it meant to them, etc.
Now, things may not be like before. I still am caught up in this wonderful yet godforsaken thing known as life and the things that come with it, and will be for the time to come. I still cannot actively play the game, and shouldering the legion by myself will be out of the question. However, since there is interest, yes: I will try to rebuild Regias.
It will be a long project. Over the following weeks, I will be giving things some serious thoughts and pondering in my spare time. I am going to take my time in fiddling around and figuring out what will work best. I will be going over and revising the legion's policies, rules, way of doing things among others.
To all of you who are reading this. The in-game legion is re-established since yesterday, but the 'official launch' will be later. There will be no advertising, active recruiting etc. until later on. For now, it's just a place where the "old bunch" can gather. You can reach me (Miirei) or Lya (Shiiranui) in-game if you'd like an invite. If you're content in your current legion or want to give it some thought: no problem. The door will always remain open.
Together, we can reshape Regias and make it into something that will survive the test of time, while maintaining the old atmosphere / vibe the legion had. For starters, I have overhauled the forum ranks and 'user info' on the left in posting view. Personally I am rather satisfied with how it came out.
