*Note: For a general guide on Relics & Abyss Instances, see the following link: http://gameguide.na.aiononline.com/aion/Abyss+Relics The other day one of our members asked me whether I knew some "good ways to earn AP" for someone of his level. Since I somehow always make things more complex than they need to be, I answered him by making a small guide of the various options that were available for his level. Over time, it has grown into a rather large project that aims to list all available options for AP per level range. *Note: As of the 4.5 update, most AP relics now can stack up to 100. The GuideThis guide is split in several 'sections' (ie. level ranges). Each section lists the new and most effective "ways to earning AP" that become available at that particular level range. Some of these methods are restricted to a certain level range (ie. You can't do them when below that level or above), while other methods remain available pretty much for the remainder of the game. A central concept to this guide is the notion that, as with kinah, AP is easier gained at the higher levels. Twinking is possible, but a higher level means: a) More options to reel in AP b) Reel in AP in tremendously larger amounts. This is not too surprising, considering the game really shifts the focus to PvP by the time you hit the 55~60+ Notes
- It is always the most profitable to do the AP activities from around your level. A level 60 can for example still do the Siel Chambers (lv35) but he isn't going to get much out of it, if anything at all.
- The most popular / effective / fastest / profitable methods have been illustrated with a green name.
- Although not mentioned below, attending sieges is also a good way to earn AP.
Abyss Points (AP): Income Methods per Level Level 25+
- Completing Quests in the Abyss (Normal + Repeatables + Reshanta Campaigns)
- Killing monsters in the Abyss
- Killing opposing faction members (Elyos/Asmodians, Balaur)
- Rifting / [Spy] Quests: Go through a rift to the maps of the opposing faction and go on a killing spree. Or do the various [Spy] quests.
Level 30~39
- Lower Abyss Instances: These are the Sulfur / Siel (East&West) Chamber instances.
You may not find relics as often in these lower-grade instances, but the mobs + repeatable quest for killing them can be a nice addition. There are also several Atreian Atlas quests related to them. lv35-39 recommended
Level 40~49
- Radiant Ops (E) / Blood Crusade (A): Found in Terminon/Primum landing, these organizations will give you daily and weekly quests for killing members of the opposing faction in various places, such as the Abyss, Elysea and Asmodae. Only players between lv40~50 can join this organization, and are expelled the moment they go beyond this level range.
Completing these quests will award you with [Radiant Tokens], which can be exchanged for pouches containing AP relics, awesome wings, a title that boosts PvP stats and a Godstone bundle, among others.
- Upper Abyss Instances: These are the Krotan / Kysis / Miren Chambers.
The instances near the center, the so-called Trinity, are relatively straightforward. You take one of the three paths, work your way through numerous Balaur elites (some careful pulls can save you a lot of time) before you reach the pre-final boss. After that you face down a Balaur Guardian General. Depending on whether you take him on at easy or hardmode and how fast you kill him, your rewards can vary greatly. Treasure chests begin to disappear after 5 minutes. lv45-49 recommended
- Guard Farming (Lower Abyss): You can now take on the normal-grade guards patrolling enemy-controlled artefacts or fortresses in the Lower Abyss.
- Dredgion (46~50): Lv.46 marks the introduction of a new type of instance, the so-called Battlegrounds, available only on certain moments / days. In a battleground or BG, your team, a team of the opposing faction, and numerous Balaur struggle for supremacy. PvPvE at its finest.
In the Dredgion, available 3x a day, points are gained by destroying checkpoints, killing Balaur, and vanquishing enemy faction players. More points = more AP. Repeatable quests are available for additional AP and consumables.
- Arena (46+): A recurring option from Lv.46 onwards, players can partake in the various arenas located in the Kaisinel Academy/Marchutan Priory:
- Arena of Discipline = 1v1. - Arena of Chaos = 8p FFA. - Arena of Harmony = 3v3.
You usually get access once a day (depending on your ticket), at fixed times. There are various lvl brackets. AP amounts vary per arena and level range, and may or may not be worth your time. It is however a great option for players who love to "test their mettle" and gain some AP while doing so.
Level 50~60
- Esoterrace (50~59): A popular option in 2.0 - early 3.0, this AP instance is accessible through Inggison/Gelkmaros once a day if your faction controls either one of the forts on those maps. The instance is easily doable, even with a small party, and provides a good AP income for players around this level.
- Guard Farming (Upper Abyss): You can now take on the normal-grade guards patrolling enemy-controlled artefacts or fortresses in the Upper Abyss.
- Chantra Dredgion / C.Dredge (51~55): The lv51-55 equivalent of the Dredgion. The mobs are slightly easier, and the focus in this variant is on PvE.
- Terath Dredgion (56+): The final Dredgion, available to players from lv56~65. lv56-60 and lv60-65 players each have their own quests. Can be done fast and 3x a day for a decent source of AP.
- The Hexway (53~60): A daily instance which can be rushed in <15 mins for AP. At the first boss, everyone gets a special pouch, containing relics, balic mats or mythic supplements and a golden box which can give a composite manastone. After this boss everyone clears their own path and claims the chest at the end, containing AP relics and Legion Coins. The Hexway is, along with UAS, one of the few instance to award Legion Coins. Nowadays, no one runs it.
Satra Treasure Hoard (57~62): This instance can be done once a day and, with a good party, can be run in under 30 minutes. You get assigned either the upper or lower path and work your way through Balaur Elite NPCs to the final boss. You will have 10 mins to best him (chests begin disappear after the timer hits 5 mins). Everyone takes one of the smaller boxes in the boss room, then loots the boss for a key which opens one of the boxes in the room behind him.
The entrance from the Tia forts triggers the default / Normal Mode Satra. Geared adventurers can enter through the portal in Tia Eye for Hard Mode, where the endboss has a tremendous higher amount of HP but gives slightly better relics. Since there are now better / more effective methods, barely anyone runs it. Removed in 4.8
Tiamaranta's Eye (57-60+): Main PvPvE area of 3.0. If both factions have access, there is PvP and [Daily] quests for nice chunk of AP there.
Another option is keyfarming (PvE). All Monsters have the chance to drop a green (chest) or blue (crate) key. Gold (treasure) keys yield the most and can be obtained from 'fatties' and special keymasters. These keys will open to a corresponding chest that can spawn anywhere in the Eye: somewhere along the roads, hidden in a corner, behind numerous monsters in a legionary room -- you name it. Key farming is time consuming but highly profitable for AP as all boxes provide an often a good amount of AP.
It is safer to farm for keys when members of the enemy faction are locked out, but bear in mind that the key drop rate is automatically nerfed by the system if this happens. Removed in 4.8
Level 61~65
- Unstable Abyssal Splinter (UAS): Located in the Divine Fortress, accessible 3x a week. It can be done with a 3-4 man group and yields AP, Legions Coins, Greater Mythic Supplements & Unstable Abyssal set pieces. There is a guide in our 'guides' section.
- Upper Abyss Barracks: These are the Krotan / Kysis / Miren Barracks.
Upgraded version of the lv.40 chambers of these forts. Available 1x/day. One of the best sources of AP along with UAS/EB/BM gear, and potentially -the- best way to earn Ceras in the game. Guaranteed 1 Cera per barrack, with a possible max. of 12+ from all 3.
- Eternal Bastion: 24p alliance instance. It is tricky to do, and thus rarely on LFG. You will need to have connections and be invited to premade groups to learn it. Winning earn you up to 65k AP and 4 Ceras.
- BM Gear to AP conversion: You can buy additional BM pieces and directly exchange them for a rather nice bit of AP at one of the random Shugo spawns in the Levinshor.
Tiamaranta's Eye: See above. Still a great source of AP at this level. Removed in 4.8
- T.Dredgion: See above. Still a great source of AP at this level.
Katalam / Danaria PvPvE: The monsters, the enemy faction players: everything gives AP in Katalam / Danaria. Removed in 4.8
- Kamar Battlefield: 12vs12 equivalent of the Dredgion with heavy focus on PvP. It is more of an arena than an instance. Your 12p alliance vs. their 12p alliance. Defeat named monsters / top ranked enemy players for points. It's an all-or-nothing fight: spoils for the winner, some scrap of wood for the losers. Kamar alliances are often premade and geared. Not a profitable option for new / undergeared players.
- Iron Wall Warfront: 24v24 battleground available on select moments during the weekends. Worthwhile, but leaders will often ask for gear checks or experience.
- Engulfed Ophidan Bridge: PvP version of Ophidan bridge. 6v6 PvPvE battleground.
Idian Depths: Main PvPvE area in 4.0. Tons of players to kill, and the mobs give a nice bit of AP too. Removed in 4.8
Turning in AP
- Danuar Relics:
These you trade in at a Shugo in the ID. He is on the second horizontal path/road found directly under south exit when you go out of the town safezone. Buys in bulk.. As of 4.8, these are turned in in Panesterra if our faction owns a fortress there.
- Goblets/Crowns:
Option 1 [All]: At the Shugos in the Divine Fortress {here}. +50% bonus, best rate in the game. But, one relic at a time. You may also be picked off by enemy faction members. Option 2 [Conquering Legion Only]: At the Legion AP Vendor in one of the 4.x fortresses your legion owns. Core rates just for you and your legion. Option 3 [House Owners Only]: If you own a house or higher grade accommodation in any of the villages in Oriel/Pernon you can sell all Crowns/Goblets in stacks of 10 and get core rates. Safe, fast & convenient.
- Seals/Icons:
Sell these in bulk to the Shugo @ Warehouse zone in Pandarunerk Delve (Danaria) {here}. Gives a 5% bonus per item, seems small but in mass/bulk sale it really adds up. Removed in 4.8. Sell to any relic NPC now.

| I'd also want to say a thing I hope people find useful. - Quote :
- Radiant Ops (lv40~50): In Terminon Landing you will find the Radiant Ops agency. Upon joining them you will get daily and weekly quests for killing Asmodians in several places: the Abyss, Elysea and Asmodae. Completing these quests will grant you Radiant Tokens, which can be exchanged for pouches containing AP relics and many other rewards.
Actually, doing Radiant Tokens isn't so easy for people with low connection, high latency, weak gear and all the regular stuff. I like pvp but I'm just starting in this server, that's for the first thing and second is, I don't have time to search for asmoses in Inggi to do a daily quest. A good source of AP is also being in Fortuneers. You get ~2 Fortuneer coins per day + weeklies. When you have six of them you can turn them in and get 6 radiant tokens in their place. Quests are PvE centered and quite easy. When you collect 6 (or preferablly 12) fortuneer tokens you can exchange them into 12 radiant tokens, and then you can buy 3 crown packages from radiant NPC. Each of the packages can drop even 4 Major Ancient Crown which is a hefty ap. And yes, sometimes you get 1 lesser. But as far as it goes for me I've always used this way to do dailies without spending much time on it while being able to always get my stigmas

Nice guide tho thanks Mii Always welcome, glad it's helpful. UAS can indeed be done from 60 onwards, but most will take 65s with eternal 60 socketed or better. Yesterday we ran UAS 4 man with a SM who didn't use DoTs and whose DPS was the same as our tank / cleric. We failed. This is why gear matters at endgame instances.
